Stop Press: New Book on Talent Management

Really excited about a new book to be published globally by Wiley's in Mid-October which I am the co-author with Paul Turner. It's title ' Make Your People Before You Make Your Products ' gives you a strong hint that the main theme of the book is based on our opinion that everyone has talent .
Many organisations continue to have an exclusive talent management strategy , meaning that maybe 5% of their employees are identified as being talented are then put on high potential schemes / fast track programmes and the other 95% are almost ignored. It's no wonder that they will seek their careers elsewhere as they do not feel that there will be a career path open to them.
Our book will argue that by having an inclusive / selective talent management strategy you will have a more engaged , motivated workforce and be well placed both to retain your staff and ultimately achieve your Companies objectives.
Both Paul and I have worked in Corporate global talent roles and besides sharing our own experiences we have identified eleven organisations from a range of sectors who share their own talent management challenges.
This book will take a fresh approach to talent issues and we hope it will reopen the debate about such issues as identifying , developing and retaining your talents.
